Stephen Jones is a 1995 graduate of Sam Houston State University, where he studied instrument pedagogy with Dr. Gary Sousa and Trombone with Dr. Henry Howey. He played bass trombone with Bearkat Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band. Mr. Jones attended high school at A&M Consolidated. He has also been a member of the Texans Pep Band and the Woodlands Concert Band. He marched with both the Sky Ryders in 1989 and Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in 1991.
Before coming to Klein, he was the Assistant Band Director at Lewis Middle School for nine years. Prior to that, he was the Director of Bands at Nimitz High School for twelve years. He also worked as the Associate Director of Bands at Nimitz High School, Eishenhower High School, Hempstead High School and Beverly Hills Intermediate.
He is an active member of Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. Mr. Jones enjoys spending time with his wife, Tami, and his son, Andruw and pets.
